Grand Seiko Elegance SBGW285 37.3 mm

The Elegance SBGW285 takes a compact, formal approach to the stainless-steel mechanical watch. Its 37.3 mm round case is 11.7 mm thick and 44.3 mm from lug to lug, with a polished dial, box-shaped sapphire crystal and an alligator-leather strap. A see-through caseback and screw-down crown complete the formal specification. A power-reserve indication gives the restrained dial a clear functional accent.

The in-house 9S64 is manually wound and built around a single barrel, 24 jewels and a 72-hour power reserve. It operates at 28,800 vph, supports hand-winding and hacking seconds, and is tested in six positions. Grand Seiko states +5/-3s/day accuracy and the Grand Seiko Standard. In the Elegance collection, this 9S6x time-only architecture gives the SBGW285 a direct mechanical identity, with the caseback making its movement part of the presentation.
