The Moonwatch is the centre

Speedmaster is Omega's chronograph family, but the Moonwatch is still the model that defines it. The manual-wind Speedmaster Professional carries the space story, the tachymeter bezel and the classic three-register layout most buyers picture first.

That does not make every Speedmaster the same watch. The current Speedmaster range also includes automatic chronographs, Speedmaster 38, Speedmaster '57, Moonphase, Dark Side of the Moon ceramic models, racing-inspired pieces and collector-focused references.

How to choose a Speedmaster

Start with whether you want the Moonwatch shape or simply an Omega chronograph. A hand-wound Moonwatch feels closest to the icon. Automatic Speedmasters can be easier for daily wear. Ceramic, gold or limited editions are more about material, rarity and personality.

Size and thickness matter. Some Speedmasters wear larger than their diameter suggests because of the case shape and chronograph pushers. Bracelet, leather and rubber also change the feel sharply.

Omega Seamaster keeps the sport-watch feel without the chronograph focus. Omega Aqua Terra is the cleaner everyday option, while Omega MoonSwatch gives the playful collaboration route.

Current Omega Speedmaster listings run from SAR 1,749 to SAR 268,403 across 71 watches, with prices shown in SAR.

Prices usually follow Moonwatch versus non-Moonwatch, movement, case material, bracelet, condition, age, limited-edition status and whether the watch has box and papers. Manual-wind Moonwatch references, ceramic models, gold editions and Calibre 321 pieces can sit in very different price bands.

A Speedmaster should be bought for the story you want to wear. Stay near the Professional line if Moonwatch history matters; look wider in the family if the goal is simply an Omega chronograph with more flexibility.
