About this reference
The Elegance SBGW258 places compact proportions and formal detailing in an 18k yellow-gold case. At 38 mm wide, 10.9 mm thick and 45.8 mm lug to lug, it has a measured presence, softened by a dual-curved sapphire crystal and crocodile-leather strap. The round case and see-through back keep the design focused on line, surface and proportion, while the date-free dial stays faithful to the simplicity of the original Grand Seiko it recreates.
The manually wound in-house 9S64 provides the mechanical focus. It has 24 jewels, one barrel, hacking seconds and a 72-hour power reserve, operating at 28,800 vph. Tested in six positions to the Grand Seiko Standard, the calibre is rated at +5/-3 seconds per day. Its restrained architecture remains visible through the sapphire caseback, giving the compact gold watch a suitably considered mechanical finish without disturbing the clarity of its time-only display.
